How To Get Free Subscription On The Sims Resource Except it wasn’t. Mailer’s publisher prevailed upon him to change the common but crass four- letter description of sex to “fug,” so as not to offend readers. Given the fact that the book was about men at war, the word occurred a lot.

YEESSS! Its completely safe! I promiseI have been looking at Sims 3 cc lately, and I have came across a website that had links to downloads from TSR, and I have heard things about the website giving you a virus, I am on a laptop and on Google chrome.. Thanks! xx
(Website I was talking about with the links: http://www.sims3updates.net/cas.php?makeup=1&eyeshadow=1
The Exchange isn't safe at all if that was what you were using before..
I swear on my birds head that its safe
I don't know why people would say it'd give you a virus.. They probably got a virus from something else somewhere around the same time they downloaded from TSR.
I swear, you have nothing to worry about
I've never had any problem with it. Its where I get ALL of my CC. Plus, its super easy to use and doesn't require a zip opening program :P - edited July 2014I promise I have not had any problems downloading from TSR and I have been using that site for a long time :-)
You will not get a virus from that site so do not worry :-)2 - edited July 2014

Thank you a ton! I also do not know why people continuously say that it is unsafe, tbh. >.>
But, I am looking forward to downloading the cc! It looks great there!
Thanks again, I appreciate it! - edited July 2014I promise I have not had any problems downloading from TSR and I have been using that site for a long time :-)

- edited July 2014I use TSR and have since Sim 1 days. I have gotten unwanted CC from some things downloaded from there, but you run that risk from every CC place, IMO. Just don't click the ads on the website and run everything you download thru Custard's before you install in your game and it'll be fine.
Wow, you must have some experience from the website! XD
Thank you for warning me about the ads, I will make sure not to accidentally click on one!
I am glad to here ever since day 1 you never had a virus from the website!
Thanks again! - edited July 2014TSR is as safe as any other site. Ads are a problem on any site, so just use an adblocker and you're good to go.
I've said it before, the reason people go on about viruses still, is because a lot of people just hate on TSR because it was previously a paysite, and even though its free to all now, some people dont want to let that go so now it's all 'oh, well, it may be free but uh...VIRUSES!'
Just read the comments on what you want to download, check your CC and stick to well known creators if you're worried about getting something unwanted or broken in your game. - edited July 2014TSR is as safe as any other site. Oh! I never knew that! Thank you for telling me it is mostly just an excuse.
As for adblocker, I think that is a great idea!
Thank you for your feedback! xx - edited July 2014I didn't know TSR had gone completely free (good to know), I had used it for free downloads way back when, didn't have any virus issues. Pretty much what people say here is good to go. Don't click the ads, get ad-blocker if need be, run through custard, and you should be good. There is a risk in everything you do.1
- edited July 2014The sims resource is completely safe. The exchange is not.
It's completely free now too.1 - edited July 2014I use a lot of CC from TSR and it's usually a lot safer than the Exchange though you have to check things before trying it in your games.1
- edited July 2014I went to TSR and downloaded some CLOTHES...a couple of dresses for my sim gals and a suit for my sim guys. Maybe 4 or 5 items total.
I had NO problems before installing these items, after...I had the nude bottom, some burnt legs, and the 'ninja shoes'!!! All these attached to some simple clothing not even related to that bad junk. You might expect that bad cc packaged in a sim file, but a dress???
Also....there is a bad file called the dancing cupcake shirt. It is known to be bad for a LONG time now. Yup, you guessed it, it was available for download at TSR.
http://sims3.crinrict.com/badcc/en/BadCC_Clothing.html
And yes, I did run the sims3pack files through Custard and nothing untoward was indicated. So they got through that as well.
Now I always keep saved files on hand to replace any of these bad cc infected files.

Marcus Aurelius - edited July 2014I've never had any troubles with TSR. I prefer getting CC there over any other site. And it's better downloading individual items there than downloading sims from the exchange. You could get bad CC or more than you bargained for.1

You have to be careful of all CC XD Just make sure to read the reviews before you install.
And about the ads, if you're a VIP, there are no ads - edited July 2014

TSR's site will detect the adblocker and make you wait 30 seconds before you can download an item, Without adblocker you wait 10 seconds. - edited July 2014What is the centaur outfit? You guys make it sound terrifying..
go to http://sims3.crinrict.com/badcc/en/BadCC_Clothing.html
It is the 4th down on the left called:
HorseBody all ages both genders
And yeah, your sims turn into centaurs

I don't think you'd like to know..
http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=9qg1f5&s=5 - I've been wondering if TSR was safe for PC, because I heard that it will cause problems if I downloaded it on PC. Is this true???????????

What is Custard's? - Custard can be found here.

Just remember it is old software and it doesn't find everything that is bad. It also shows things being bad that are not bad.
So it is a way of finding some issues and is generally better than nothing.
I have two computers. Only one of them has CC on it. The other one I use for building if I want to put something on the Exchange. Not Everything on the Exchange is bad. Not Everything at TSR is safe.
This link will give you more info that is the best I know of for knowing about bad CC.
